LA Music Venues

Great Music Venues of Los Angeles:

1. Hollywood Bowl- this is a large outdoor venue. For most shows you can bring in your own food and beverages to enjoy before the show. Bleacher seating.
2. Greek Theater (aka get him to the Greek) this is also, a large outdoor venue located in Griffith Park. Parking is around $20 but, if you park in Silverlake you can walk to the venue (there is a little bit of an incline). This has assigned seating with individual seats (which is a little harder (but not impossible) to sit with your friends if you purchased tickets separately). There are picnic tables near the entrance that you can eat at before the show.
3. Troubadour- located in West Hollywood/ Beverly Hills adjacent; off of Santa Monica Blvd. This is a great small venue. Side note: you are not allowed to bring gum into the venue. Parking is a little bit of a hassle. Also, the second level has bleachers if you decide you would like to sit down. There are also, three bars (one located on the first floor outside the music area, one in the back of the dance floor, and one upstairs but outside the music area).
4. The Echo and Echoplex- located in Silverlake off of w. sunset blvd. This is a small venue with an outdoor patio for smokers. Neighborhood and street parking available (make sure to read signs carefully).
5. The El Rey- located in Miracle Mile off of Wilshire blvd. Street parking available but, read signs and meters. This is a medium sized venue with beautiful chandeliers. This is mostly standing room only with a few chairs available on the outskirts.
6. The House of Blues- this is located in Hollywood off of Sunset blvd. There are private tables available but, mostly standing room only. There is also, an upstairs which may have chairs and tables. The music area is located down the stairs from the restaurant. This is a great place to have dinner before the show. They have a parking lot which I believe has a charge. Otherwise, your best bet would be a taxi or bus. Neighborhood parking is more difficult.
7. Hollywood Palladium- a medium sized venue in Hollywood off of Sunset blvd. There is a large dance floor and limited seating. Bring cash for side bars. Also, there is a parking lot in the back for around $5-10.

*These are the only venues that I have been to so far. I will update after I have visited a new venue.
